"Time is an invention of sexually reproducing organisms; for the ameoba, time does not exist."
Jaimes has been a full-time tango teacher for most of his adult life. Before that, he traveled from town to town with a suitcase and his guitar, sleeping on rooftops and singing songs for bus fare. A dancer of extraordinary accomplishment, Jaimes is hailed for his beautiful movement and musicality. His teaching career began early in his life, giving classrooms composed of various stuffed animals and plastic toys lessons in reading, writing, and basic arithmetic. He has since passed this responsibility on to his daughter, Ravenna, who was born in the fall of 2006.

"Tango is one of those things where 1 + 1 can be 3"
Neeraj is a software engineer by profession but a tanguero by heart. He spends inordinate amounts of time watching tango videos. He has been caught more than a few times watching grainy tango videos on youtube in the office. As a tanguero, he is open to all ideas but strives to maintain a spirit of crisp and smooth elegance. As a teacher, he pays attention to details because small details can can add up to big changes (hence 1 + 1 can be 3). He also DJs at local venues. Neeraj did his Masters in Engg. at the University of Michigan and likes to invest in the stock market. So you may hear him say things like, 'Today I feel bullish on sacadas but bearish on ganchos !'

"Tango is my boyfriend; no one has ever made me feel so beautiful.”
Christa has recently resumed her studies at the University of Washington after spending the last 3 years traveling the world, spinning pizzas at Whole Foods, and dancing tango as much as humanly possible. Emphasizing her footwork in the prettiest shoes in town, Christa moves across the dance floor with a presence that is both strong and seductive. Christa works patiently with each individual student to improve the unique quality in his or her dance. When she not studying or dancing, Christa can be found strumming the guitar or pounding silver and copper into jewelry.

"Tango is about expressing the sensuality of life."
Daniel is currently employed as a 3D animator at a small video game company in Seattle. Continued training in his vocation and his lindy hop experience has been a great help him in his pursuit of tango. Both in his job and in tango, he has been breaking down and studying movements and actions in ways that can be easily broken down and explained. In his own dancing, he continues to focus strongly on improving his technique and has been praised for his increasingly strong grasp of musicality. As a teacher, he is constantly striving to find more effective ways of explaining both the simple and complicated aspects of tango. Few know he was once caught dancing with a moose.

CAROL SMITH
"Losing yourself in the music and the movement of tango -- you find yourself." tango dancersspacer
Carol is a journalist by profession, but a dancer at heart. Dancing has been a part of her life since childhood.  She has an extensive background in ballet, modern, jazz and salsa which provides her with a creative insight into intricate body mechanics and musical interpretation.  Tango captivated her because of its complex dynamics and the range of personal expression conveyed through connection to the music and a partner.
As an instructor, Carol focuses on creating a welcoming atmosphere for students of all experience levels, encouraging and helping them through the development of their own tango.  She enjoys watching her students grow and strives to infect new dancers with her passion for tango.  Her elegant fluidity on the dance floor is inspirational and beautiful to watch. Carol has a Master's degree in plant pathology, but can't get her own orchids to bloom.
